Jon Gillis

Jon Gillis is a noted author, speaker, trainer and entrepreneur who utilizes his unique skills to engage and challenge his audiences. He has an educational background in business administration, finance and economics and is a frequent presenter to a number of Fortune 500 companies.

Elva Avara

Elva Avara is the author of Of Sun and Shadowed Places and recently was named Mississippi Poetry Society’s 2007 Poet of the Year. A musician as well as a poet, Avara has composed hymns and anthems used in her church, Dantzler Memorial United Methodist, including a commemorative piece marking Dantzler’s 150th anniversary. Her composition “A New Song for America” was also selected and performed at the Jubilate Choral Festival in Salt Lake City. Avara is the widow of W.T. “Pete” Avara, Jr., the mother of four children, and has eleven grandchildren.



August Guyton

August Guyton is a trained, fully licensed Financial Advisor with more than a decade of experience in the credit union industry. In recent years, she has worked for MEMBERS Capital Advisors to provide Financial Advisors education on the latest developments in the retirement planning industry. She is a sought after speaker throughout the southeast where she, presents seminars on Retirement Planning, Money Management and Women and Investing. In preparation for her career, August received her Bachelor of Science from Southern Illinois University and later furthered her education with a Master of Arts at Webster University.



David M. McAfee

David M. McAfee, M.D., is the President and Medical Director of e-Fitness & Wellness as well as Chairman and Founder of the Mississippi Wellness Foundation. In 1992, McAfee was named Medical Director of Cedar Lake Surgery Center, where he currently practices Anesthesiology and Pain Management at Cedar Lake Surgery Center. With over 18 years of experience in Pain Management and Anesthesiology, he began an investigation into the link between pain, experience and the role of the mind, resulting in 10 years of personal experience in meditation and extensive academic traveling. The foundation of McAfee’s practice is based on the goal of aiding individuals within a community in attaining wellness through enlightenment.
